Exercises to Become Taller Naturally
If you are in search of ways that can help you grow become taller then you will have more than likely trawled the internet for information on how you can do this. Your search will probably have included lots of artificial ways in which you can achieve your desired growth and perhaps you have even considered some of these. This is of course one way you could go but before you tread along this path you might want to consider some much more natural, yet equally viable methods. For instance, you could focus on some very specific exercises that will strengthen your back, improve your posture and elongate your spine. And, if you become more physically fit and improve your health at the same time then surely it will not have all been in vain.
Here we look at why your back is so important in your quest to become taller and the role of your spine in determining your height. We will also consider some of the exercises you can do from the comfort of your own home that will set you in the right path so that you can become taller in your own time and at your own pace.
Let’s start with the spine. Your spine is the column of bones that runs down the center of your upper body and is made up of individual parts called vertebrae that link together to form the whole. In between these vertebrae are small discs that help your spine stay flexible and are important for passing nutrients around the body. If these discs have access to all of the nutrients they need then they will fill up and swell, which in turn increases the distance between each vertebrae and make your spine longer, allowing you to become taller in the process.
How can you encourage these discs to fill with nutrients? Well you can do two things to encourage this to happen; you can improve your diet and you can also perform certain stretches so that the discs are not compressed and have the room they need to absorb the relevant fluids.
In addition to the vertebrae and discs in your spine, it is important to think about the muscles that support it because you will need to work on these too if you are going to become taller. These muscles support your spine so that you can stand tall and move around flexibly. If these are strong then you can both improve your posture and also allow your spine to elongate.
Posture is important in two ways. Firstly, poor posture immediately gives the impression of a shorter height. Secondly, better posture means your spine is less compressed and the discs in between the vertebrae can fill with fluid more easily.
The exercises we will look at will improve your posture and allow your spine to stretch for optimum growth so that you can start to become taller.
Standing Exercises to Become Taller Naturally:
1.   Wall Stretches, several variations. Keep your feet flat on the floor for each. Feel the stretch and always strive to get higher.
a.   Stand with your back to a wall, heels together with feet 18 to 20 inches from the wall. Reach your arms up and behind you, elbows straight, until your fingers touch the wall. If you don’t feel the stretch, move further away from the wall. Try to increase your distance from the wall by a few inches every other day.
This is an excellent stretch to become taller
b. Stand with your back and heels against a wall. Place your hands on the wall above your head and reach up as far as you can.
c.   Stand with your belly and toes against a wall. Stretch one hand up on the wall as high as you can go, trying to go even higher. Hold for several seconds, then lower that hand and repeat with the other hand. Repeat 3 times per hand.
d.   Stand with left side against the wall. Stretch your left hand up on the wall as high as you can. Relax your arm, then stretch again, for a total of three replicates. Repeat on the right side.
2.   Stand well away from any obstacles. Stretch your arms out to your sides, straight, so you look like a letter t. Bending at the waist, and keeping your arms straight, bring your left hand down toward your left knee. Smoothly return to the starting position and repeat on the right. Continue for about 1 minute.
This exercise can also be performed with your hands clasped behind your head or with arms stretched overhead and thumbs interlocked. Do whichever gives you the better stretch, or mix them up for variety.
3.   Stand with arms over your head, hands overlapping with fingers pointed to the ceiling, and feet hip-width apart. Bend forward at the waist to touch your toes, then return to the start position. It is easier to touch the floor the farther apart your feet are, so when you are able to do so without feeling the stretch, bringyour feet closer together. If you are able to touch the floor with your feet together, work toward placing your palms flat on the floor.
An alternate method begins with your hands on hips. Raise one hand and touch the foot on the same side, return to start and repeat with the other side. Or, touch the opposite foot. Mix up these toe-touching exercises for variety.
You should only ever do what feels comfortable and natural and it is always recommended that you seek advice from your doctor before you begin in case these movements are not suitable for you.
